בן רוזה ושמואל, נולד בשנת 1926 בעיירה שהי, צ'כוסלובקיה, למשפחת עובדי-אדמה.
הוא למד בבית-ספר יסודי עד כיתה ח' ולפי רצון הוריו ורצונו הוא התכונן להיות חקלאי כמוהם. עם פרוץ מלחמת-העולם השנייה נלקחו ההורים למחנה- הסגר והשמדה ושם נספו, והנער בן ה-13 ניצל בנס על-ידי כך שעגלון הונגרי נוצרי, שעבד אצל אביו, סיפח אותו למשפחתו והחביאו עד בוא השחרור. כל אותן השנים עבד הנער כעגלון. עם מיגור הנאצים התכונן לעלייה. היה חבר "המכבי-הצעיר" והצטרף לקבוצה מחברי תנועתו שהפליגה מאיטליה באוניית-מעפילים. ב2.9.1945- הגיעו לארץ ונכלאו בעתלית. משם שוחררו על-ידי אנשי ה"הגנה" שפרצו למחנה. עם חבריו לגרעין ההתיישבותי היה במצובה, עיינות וחולדה. זמן-מה עבד גם בכפר המכבי וברחובות ועלה עם העולים על הקרקע בצאלים אשר בנגב בשנת 1947.
כחבר ה"הגנה" גויס בפרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות, שירת בחטיבת הנגב ונפל בהתקפה על
משלטי חוליקאת ביום י"א בתמוז תש"ח (18.7.1948). נקבר ברוחמה.
ביום י"א בתמוז תש"י (26.6.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בכפר
ורבורג.
Son of Roza and Samuel, born 1926 in the town of Sahi, Czechoslovakia, to an agricultural family.
He learned in elementry school until the eighth grade when, following his parents' will, he prepared to become and farmer like them. With the start of the second world war his parents were taken to a concentration camp where they were murdered, but the thirteen year old boy was saved by a christian cart-driver who worked for his father who took him into his family until the war was over. Mordekhai worked as a cart-worker for this period.
With the expelling of the nazis from Europe, he planned his coming to Israel. He was a member of "Ha Macabi Ha Tzair" and joined a group of his peers who were travelling from Italy to Israel by ship.
On the second of February 1945 they reached Israel and were stopped in Atlit. They were freed from there by members of the "Haganah" who breached the walls of the camp. With his friends he made his way to the settlements of Matzuba, Einot and Hulda. He worked for a while in Kfar Macabi and in Rehovot, and joined settlers on their quest to Tze'elim of the Negev in 1947.
As a member of the "Haganah" he was recruited at the start of the war of independence, served in the Golani unit and died during the attack on Hulikat on the eleventh of Tamuz, 5708 (18\7\1948). He was burried in Ruhama.
On the eleventh of Tamuz 5710 (26\6\1950) his body was transferred to his final resting place in the military cemetary of Kfar Varburg.
